Are you making prayer a priority in your life?
Today’s devotional is all about the power of prayer and why no believer can truly be fruitful without it. Prayer is the key that unlocks the supernatural and helps us bear the fruit of repentance and righteousness.
Our text today is from Luke 18:1.
Our memory verse for today comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “Pray without ceasing.”
Prayer is essential for fruitfulness.
A life without prayer is like a fish out of water: it cannot thrive. If you want to see the fruit of righteousness, you must make prayer a daily part of your walk with God. Prayer elevates your spiritual life, giving you access to the supernatural and enabling you to keep the enemy at bay. Without prayer, you will be vulnerable to attacks, and you won’t reach your life’s goals or bear fruit in Christ.
At Humber, I entered a pitch competition with 20 students. I prayed because anything could have gone wrong. I might not have even woken up that morning. But I did, and God gave me peace and strength, and I went on to place first. The $15K grant was great, but the real win was knowing that prayer carried me. Without prayer, I would be vulnerable to attacks, and I wouldn’t reach my goals.
In Luke 18:1, Jesus told His disciples that “men ought always to pray and not to faint.” This is a call to be consistent in prayer, regardless of the distractions and challenges of life. Many believers fall short in this area, showing weakness and lethargy in their prayer life. The result is that they remain spiritually weak and unable to bear the fruit God desires from them.
As students, you’re navigating exams, career goals, and daily pressures, but prayer cannot be neglected if you want to see fruitfulness in your life. Prayer is how you make your requests known to God and ask for His guidance. It’s time to reignite the fire in your prayer life and make prayer a priority. You must pray until you ascend into the realm of the supernatural where everything becomes possible.
Prayer Points
1. O God, release upon me abundance of Your power for prayer, in Jesus name.
2. Any spirit assigned to make me weak and render me lethargic, be uprooted, in Jesus name.
3. Lord, reignite Your fire in my prayer altar, in Jesus name.
