Are you walking in obedience to God’s Word?
Today’s devotional focuses on the role of obedience in your spiritual growth. In God’s plan for fruitfulness, obedience is a priority. Without it, we cannot truly walk with God or bear lasting fruit.
Our text today is from Isaiah 1:19.
Our memory verse for today comes from 2 Chronicles 7:14:
“If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (KJV)
Obedience is key to fruitfulness.
God’s program of fruitfulness isn’t just about being willing to follow Him. It’s about being both willing and obedient. Abraham’s obedience was counted as righteousness (Genesis 22:18), and we are called to follow his example. Obedience means humbling ourselves, praying, seeking God’s face, and turning from wickedness.
Many students today chase after material success and forget that true fruitfulness comes through obedience to God’s commands. Our memory verse reminds us that when we obey, God hears our prayers, forgives our sins, and heals our lives.
As a student in today’s world, you’re faced with countless distractions. But if you want to bear fruit that pleases God, you must walk in obedience, no matter the cost. Humble yourself before God, stay focused on His Word, and let Him transform you into the person He’s calling you to be.
Prayer Points:
O God, give me a broken spirit and a humble heart, in Jesus name.
Any spirit of pride and haughtiness operating in my heart, be uprooted, in Jesus name.
Lord, I pray for grace to obey Your word at all times, in Jesus name.
